What DuoTyping keeps
Where your writing goes, what DuoTyping keeps of it, and how to take it back.
What you check
- With DuoTyping Engine, each check goes through DuoTyping’s server, which keeps it, encrypted and linked to your account, to improve DuoTyping. Marks as you type and translations are kept the same way. None of it is used to train AI, sold or shared.
- With your own key on a Mac or Windows, checks go straight to your AI service, and DuoTyping keeps nothing of them. Translate always goes through DuoTyping.
- Spelling marks aren’t kept.
The apps keep no history of what you check.
Your account
It holds your email, how you sign in, your time zone, writing profiles, drafts, dictionary, plan and daily counts. Drafts are encrypted on DuoTyping’s server, but not end to end, and kept until you delete them.
On your computer
Your settings, and on a Mac or Windows your drafts and keys. Keys stay in the Mac’s Keychain or encrypted on Windows, and are never sent to DuoTyping.
Reports and app results
A report keeps your reason, never your text or your key. The Mac and Windows apps also send anonymous counts of which apps marks work in, never your text. To stop them, turn off Share anonymous app results in Settings › About.
Take it or delete it
In the web app’s Privacy: Export My Data, Delete All Drafts or Delete Account. Deleting your account unlinks your kept checks from you.
Every detail is in the Privacy Policy.
