Known issues
What doesn’t work as it should yet, and what to do instead.
Mac and Windows
- Beta on every app. DuoTyping hasn’t finished testing marks as you type in any app, so each card says Beta. Marks still work; Report a Problem… in the badge’s menu helps us test.
Mac
- Chrome, Slack, Teams and other apps built on Chromium don’t let a check write its fix back: the card offers Copy. Paste the fix over your selection.
- ⌃⇧⌘T in Finder translates, in place of Finder’s File › Add to Dock. To keep Finder’s, record other keys in Settings › Shortcuts.
Windows
- Word and classic Outlook get no marks as you type. Use the shortcut.
- Apps run as administrator don’t take DuoTyping’s paste. Copy the fix instead.
- A Word paragraph with a picture in it isn’t checked.
- Pronounce can read text in a language it can’t tell with the wrong voice, unless marks as you type have checked that paragraph.
- The tray’s right-click menu doesn’t follow dark mode.
Chrome and Edge
- Google Docs isn’t supported: no marks, and right-click can’t check there.
- Edge Add-ons has an old version of DuoTyping. Add it from the Chrome Web Store instead.
- A selection with a table, an image or a link can be checked but not written back. Choose Copy.
- Some editors hide their text box from extensions. There, no bar or marks show.
Web
- Spelling rules can’t be turned off on the web. Choose Skip on a mark you don’t want.
